Early childhood digest: holiday break edition
a murder mystery AND the journal of Montessori research to read by the fire.
Happy holidays! If you are a teacher reading this, I hope you are either already relaxing on winter break or are almost there. You deserve a holiday filled with joy and rest.
As an educator who relies on school breaks to feel like a functioning human, I look forward to time off. Time to relax with family, focus on getting my home in order, and time for all those appointments that are hard to fit into the school year. Reflecting on the past semester, I want to make changes for myself for the coming semester. I want to bring some of that school break energy into the school year. I want to leave my classroom at the end of each day, and leave any worries and stress at the door instead of bringing them home. If you are an educator, I hope you can do that, too. During your break, I encourage you to reflect on how you feel during your holiday and consciously bring that energy into the school year.
