Nonviolent communication, art for Women's History Month, and bees to welcome spring.
"To have a vision of the cosmic plan, in which every form of life depends on directed movements which have effects beyond their conscious aim, is to understand the child's work and be able to guide it better."
Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind
Hi everyone. If you’re an educator, I hope you feel some of my joy in welcoming spring. I love the time of the year after spring break! I always feel refreshed and inspired to finish the year well. We are outside more, and there is so much extra daylight when I leave school! I know some educators don’t feel such a spring in their step this time of year. Don’t get me wrong, the weeks between spring break and summer are challenging. Some days, it does feel like the weeks between spring break and summer are moving at a slow creep. The oldest students are often on their way to the second plane, with senioritis coursing through their veins. Children can become antsy once the air gets warm. But I love the fresh energy spring brings. I feel like I’m waking up from a long nap, ready to finish the year strong.
